Historic Colonial Beach, Virginia
Introducing the Miss Ann of Colonial Beach

The Town of Colonial Beach is pleased to announce the arrival of a new Honorary Citizen - The Miss Ann of Colonial Beach. Proud owners Frank and Guy Schroff are delighted to offer this historic vessel for your sailing pleasure.

The Miss Ann of Colonial Beach is a 127 foot fantail yacht built in 1926 by the Pusey & Jones shipyard in Wilmington, Delaware. Her 82-year span is a rich one and she has witnessed many significant events in our nation's history.

At the time of her christening, she was referred to as the Siele, and was proclaimed to be "the last word in yacht design and construction for a yacht of her size". She was eventually sold to Mr. Robert Wolf of Columbus, Ohio and was renamed Sea Wolf. She was used for entertainment purposes until 1941 when she was turned over to the U.S. Navy for use in the war effort. She was commissioned the Aquamarine and went on to conduct experimental work and also serve as tender to the Presidential yacht Potomac. After her decommissioning she was eventually purchased by E.A. Stephens. The ensuing restoration to her former glory resulted in her being named after Stephens' wife, Ann. From that day forward, she has been known as the Miss Ann.

The Miss Ann of Colonial Beach is docked at the Gangplank Marina in Washington DC and is available for public cruises and private charters. She is a Virginia Registered Landmark and a member of the National Historic Registry.
