Historic Colonial Beach, Virginia

Special Events

During the summer, weekends are filled with special events such as Market Days, Bluemont Concerts, The Rod Run, The Potomac River Festival and of course the regionally talked-about annual 4th of July celebration with show-stopping fireworks. The rest of the year the beach hosts everything from 2nd Friday Art Walks to The Boardwalk Arts and Craft Show and a couple of Rockfish Tournaments.

Kicking off the 2009 summer season, the 58th annual Potomac River Festival was a huge success.  We enjoyed a fabulous festival, made new friends and celebrated with many of our old friends as well. Despite the shadow of an economy that was clearly losing momentum, the activities in Town continued to attract the usual visitors and many regional residents who would normally travel long distances for vacations discovered Colonial Beach.

Well the fall festivals may be behind us, but the memories of a wonderful season linger.  A few of the major events for the 2010 season are already scheduled.  We will be adding those to the calendar of events over the next few weeks. As a special treat there will be a few new events added to this year's roster. Among them will be a special day-long Fourth of July event on Town Hill.  Stay tuned!

Remember, we have a special event for everyone.

Note:  Watch the calendar on the home page for 2010 activities.  They will be announced soon.
